Book Review: José Geraldo Vieira's 'O Albatroz'

Why read a book that no one remembers, and not a good book at that? To answer that question one would have to delve into the inner depths of a complex mind, and that is perhaps something not even the owner of that mind could do. This tale of a doomed family has repelled me from the very first page, which makes my reading it even more of an enigma. I did not like the style and I did not like the characters. It works as a succinct lesson of Brazilian History of the first half of the twentieth century though. And I shall leave it at that.
